ORIENTAL\EGYPTIAN

The term Oriental comes from the Arabic term raqs sharqi which means "dance of the East.
This Egyptian-style raqs sharqi is a folk style of dance from the Arab Tribes who settled in Upper Egypt and is one of the oldest dance forms in the world.
This style is mainly a solo improvisational dance that has become more cabaret and in costume.
Though the basic dance movements have remained the same, the dance continues to evolve. Most of the basic steps and movements in Egyptian style are circular in motion, usually confined to one part of the body, such as the “hip circle” or “chest circle.”
