KILMAINHAM ARTS CLUB
The Kilmainham Arts Club is just one year old and is a not for profit group whose focus is the celebration of the artistic spirit.
Attached is the poster for the festival which we are running Sep 3rd and 4th 2010, more details will be posted on the blog.
www.kilmainhamartsclub.wordpress.com
As you can guess, as much help and support as you can give in promoting this event is really appreciated! We hope that this is the first of many Kilmainham Arts Festivals, we are doing it on a shoestring, pulling the hat out of the rabbit, doing the loaves and fishes routine...
the festival needs a big push to get it off the ground - its success will determine how likely we are to be able to extend this into an annual event and attract sponsers.
We really believe that it will enhance the area, provide a platform for artists and a connection point between people that is energising and empowering; it is something of value to be involved inWe have some wonderful events and some great people onboard so it will be an exciting event for everyone, but first... they need to know it is happening -
Please support our event by displaying this information, forwarding this attachement to people in the area, people in the arts and whoever you think would enjoy it, or even help promote it somehow. We aim to make almost everything free, just small charge at selected workshops, so donations are also welcome to help with running costs.
There is still an opening for performers and artists to exhibit their work also, they can get in touch by e mailing us at kilmainhamartsfestival@gmail.com

BELLYDANCE HOLIDAY
The next bellydance holiday from October 27-Nov 3 has just a few spaces left. 1/3 discounts for returners ;o)
The aim of the bellydance holiday is to show people the real Egypt, so that you can incorporate the context of the culture into your dancing, rather than have it as a weekly exercise/ training session. You'll go sight-seeing each morning Then you return to the hotel, and you can swim/ sunbathe/ take phot os, relax. Early evening, there's a 1 to 1.5 hour session with 5 different local teachers, who show you a real mix of styles, including Ghawazee, cabaret, Saidi, and village/ wedding.
Each evening we go out for a local meal. Then we go to the souk/ market, where you can seemingly buy anything you want! and then down to the River Nile to look at the twinkling lights on the water edge and across the Nile mountains.
I have a professional tour guide who escorts us throughout, he has a degree in History and Archaeology.
There's a free day in the middle for exploring, and an optional daytrip to Cairo (c£110pp) to see the pyramids, Cairo Museum and bellydance quarter, Khan Al Khalili, where you can get cheap bellydance clothes and accessories (including professional cabaret dresses) at the warehouse that I buy all my stock from where you'll get Egyptian price with my established discounts.
The £350 fee is for:
taxi transfers from airport to hotel on 1st and last days
7 nights B&B in a posh hotel on River Nile with massive pool
all group trips
all group taxis
all group bellydance lessons
male escort
myself ;o)
Well behaved (!) husbands, friends/ children are welcome for a reduced fee.
The next dates planned are:
October half term
February 2011
You just send £100 deposit and full details, and pay the balance of £250 at least 6 weeks before departure.
